Khartoum – Civil war that has erupted in Sudan since last week has killed 413 people and injured 3551. Sudan’s Army Chief, General Burhan, announced they were ready for a democratic government and also imposed a 72-hour ceasefire for humanitarian aid. But even after this, the conflict continues in major cities, including the capital Khartoum and millions of people have been displaced so far. Meanwhile, the Pentagon announced that the US would soon send a contingent of Marines to rescue its embassy staff in Sudan.

Moreover, the conflict between Sudan’s military and paramilitary forces currently becomes a matter of concern internationally. There were claims of foreign powers behind the civil war in Sudan, which had huge reserves of fuel and gold. In addition, the Sudanese army had expressed suspicion about the neighbouring African countries for this. But international analysts claim it was a global conspiracy against General Burhan, who was trying to implement a democratic system in Sudan. Therefore, analysts have been pointing out that this conflict was not only limited to African countries, but it can also have consequences at the international level.

After breaking the ceasefire imposed two days ago, Army Chief General Burhan again announced a new ceasefire of 72 hours. Sudan’s military announced the ceasefire to deliver humanitarian aid on a holy festival for Muslims. However, on Friday morning, eyewitnesses reported that clashes continued in the northern part of Khartoum’s capital. There were claims of ceasefire violations continued by paramilitary forces. Even after this, the army chief has said he was committed to implementing a democratic system in Sudan.

Furthermore, the country’s former defence officials claim that the Sudanese army has 80% control over the conflict that has been going on for the past week. Russia supports Sudan’s army, and there have been allegations that the head of the paramilitary force, General Dagalo, has been working at the behest of Western countries. Therefore, the international media has published claims that there was a covert war between the US and Russia during the conflict in Sudan. As the news unfolds, the US prepares to push its Marines stationed in Djibouti into Sudan.

The media also expressed the possibility of a military operation with the help of the US Marines to rescue 70 of its employees from the embassy in Khartoum. A South Korean army unit and aircraft have also arrived in Djibouti. Besides, Japan has sent a passenger plane to evacuate its citizens. Major European countries like the United Kingdom and Germany have announced that they have been considering all options regarding Sudan. Additionally, France has advised its citizens stuck in Sudan not to leave their homes. This seems to have increased the chances of the bloodshed in Sudan becoming more severe in the coming days.
