20 Chinese aeroplanes intrude into Taiwanese airspace, biggest intrusion till date

Taipei: Twenty Chinese fighter jets intruded into the Taiwanese airspace on Friday, where Taiwan replied aptly by activating the missile systems and deploying its fighter jets. This is the biggest intrusion by Chinese fighter jets into Taiwanese airspace. There has been an increase in intrusions by the Chinese fighter jets into the Taiwanese airspace since the last few days. The aggressive change in the Chinese stand is believed to be because of the change of leadership in the United States.

20 Chinese aeroplanes intrude into Taiwanese airspace, biggest intrusion till dateAs per the information shared by the Taiwanese defence ministry, 20 fighter jets of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army intruded into the Taiwanese Air Defence Identification Zone on Friday evening. These included ten J-16 fighter jets, two J-10 multirole fighters, four H-6K bombers, two Y-8 anti-submarine warfare planes, one KJ-500 airborne early warning and control plane and a Y-8 tactical reconnaissance plane.

The Taiwanese defence ministry informed that the H-6K bombers and Y-8 anti-submarine warfare planes intruded into the Taiwanese airspace, and the other planes violated the airspace of Dongsha Island. When the Chinese fighter jets dashed against the Taiwanese airspace, Taiwan sent a radio message. Taiwanese fighter jets also were despatched. But as the Chinese fighter jets were not responding to the warnings, Taiwan activated its missile systems. With this, the Chinese fighter jets turned towards the South China Sea. Before this, on the 24th of January, China had sent 12 fighter jets into the Taiwanese airspace. After that, the Chinese fighter jets are consistently violating the Taiwanese airspace. It has been exposed that this month, Chinese aeroplanes have intruded 13 times into the Taiwanese Air Defence Identification Zone.
