Tehran – The action taken against the UAE vessel transiting the Red Sea a few days ago was a warning for Israel, warned Yemeni Houthi Rebels. The Rebels also warned that they wouldn’t tolerate Israeli actions in the Yemen maritime region. Besides, due to the ongoing civil war in Yemen for the last five years, questions are being raised on the security of trade ships sailing through the Red Sea. In such a situation, the Houthi Rebels’ action over the UAE vessel and their warning to Israel has further increased the strain in this region.

Houthi, Israel, UAE, Yemen, Red Sea,Four days ago, a UAE carrier vessel had left for Jizan Port, situated to the west of Saudi Arabia. However, the Houthi Rebels seized it when it entered the Red Sea. The Rebels have claimed that this carrier vessel, anchored at Hodeidah port, contains army vehicles and other ammunition. Moreover, the Houthi Rebels accused UAE of shipping this arsenal to arm Saudi Arabia against the Rebels.

Moreover, Houthi Rebel spokesperson Colonel Aziz Rashid claimed that the Houthi insurgents showed strength while carrying out this action. He further said that the Houthis captured the vessel without any counterattack. Besides, Colonel Rashid has threatened that this action is a warning to Israel. ‘If Israel acts against us even after this, we will destroy their naval ships and military bases. Moreover, Israel won’t last long on Yemen’s Island,’ Rashid threatened. The spokesperson also declared that the Houthis won’t stop only with this seizure but will continue to carry out many such activities in the times to come. Iran has backed Houthi Rebels, which have struck conflict against Yemeni President Hadi for the last five years. Thus, the gravity of this threat issued by Houthis to Israel has increased.

This Socotra Island is situated at the Gulf of Aden in the Yemen maritime region. Besides, it is partially controlled by UAE. Moreover, earlier news had surfaced that the Israeli army has developed its base at the UAE-controlled region of this Island. Iran media had claimed that this base would monitor movements of Iranian ships sailing between the region from the Indian Ocean to the Red Sea. However, Israel did not respond to this claim. Thus, Israel has also not responded to this new threat issued by Houthi Rebels.

Meanwhile, earlier also, the Houthi Rebels had warned to launch rocket attacks towards the south of Israel. But this time, they have warned to act against the Israeli ships in the Red Sea. The Israeli Navy, passenger and carrier ships continue transiting through the Red Sea, connecting European nations to Middle Eastern and Asian countries. Thus, if the Houthi Rebels attack any ships in this region in future, it would create chaos. Moreover, it would impact the international goods carrier shipping, cited the analysts.
