Time has come to take India-Israel cooperation to new heights: PM Narendra Modi  

New Delhi: – Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed confidence, ‘The importance of India-Israel cooperation has increased further given the transformations on the global level. The cooperation between these two countries will not stop short of achieving new heights in the coming decades.’ Diplomatic relations between India and Israel are completing 30 years. Prime Minister Modi has delivered this message on this occasion.

This year India is celebrating the ‘Suvarna Mahotsav’ of its independence. Whereas Israel will celebrate the diamond jubilee of its independence next year. Therefore, the Indian Prime Minister underlined the importance of bilateral cooperation, saying that this is the best opportunity to take the cooperation between the countries to new heights. At the same time, the Prime Minister pointed out that although the diplomatic relations between the two countries cultures are only 30 years old, the cultural cooperation between the two civilisations goes back many centuries.   

Indian and Israeli populations have shared friendly cooperation for a long time. The Prime Minister clarified that Jewish people have been a part of the Indian culture for many centuries and have contributed to Indian progress. Meanwhile, Indian Foreign Minister S Jaishankar reminded that the India-Israel friendship has a long tradition. Foreign Minister Jaishankar expressed confidence that both the countries will develop their friendly relations further and this cooperation will be more fruitful.   

India and Israel, geographically separated by nearly 4,000 kilometres, cooperate in various sectors. Indian Foreign Minister Jaishankar and Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid said that these include water management, agriculture and research and defence cooperation. Whereas Naor Gilon, Israeli Ambassador to India, expressed the need to chart out the path of India-Israel cooperation for the next 30 years. Gilon recently said that the India-Israel cooperation would grow further and only in the present.
