Berlin: A meeting of the G7 countries, consisting of the most developed and rich countries in the world, was recently held in Germany. The conflict in Ukraine and its aftermath were discussed in the meeting. The G7 has not had much success in resolving the crisis that has befallen European countries, which are facing direct war on such a large scale for the first time since World War II. A German newspaper claims that China and Russia are building an alternative to the Western G7.

The BRICS meeting was held just last week. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova then made the interesting announcement. The newspaper pointed out that Zakharova had said that Argentina and Iran were also ready to join BRICS.

The newspaper said that the Russian Foreign Ministry’s announcement cannot be ignored. The G7, which consists of the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Germany, Italy and Japan, was known as the G8 a few years ago, and it had eight member countries. But Russia invaded Ukraine and took control of Crimea, and Russia had to exit the G8. After this, Russia was ready to challenge this organization which became the G7. While talking about BRICS, Russian Member of Parliament Aleksey Pushkov expressed confidence that the organization could be an alternative to the G7. The German newspaper also noted that Pushkov had pointed out that it did not include the Western countries. Iran and Argentina are preparing to join BRICS. A Russian news agency, citing a report by a German newspaper, claimed that Mexico, Turkey and Saudi Arabia could join BRICS after that.
