External Affairs Minister Jaishankar spoke at the EU Indo-Pacific Ministerial Forum (EIPMF) event and emphasized the importance of continued communication between European and Indo-Pacific nations. This dialogue, according to Jaishankar, becomes significant when viewed in the wake of global issues. ‘However, while globalization is a reality of current times, it cannot be fully realized if the idea of a multilateral world order is accepted. The idea of a multilateral world will not come to pass without a multilateral Asia,’ according to Jaishankar.

An invitation was not extended to China for the EIPMF summit. China has been excluded from this meeting due to its expansionist activities in the Indo-Pacific region and its ongoing attempts to dominate the world stage. In actuality, the primary concern at this meeting appears to be the potential threat posed by China. The dialogue between the European Union and the nations of the Indo-Pacific region, according to External Affairs Minister Jaishankar, is becoming more crucial as the severity of the problems the world is facing rises.

On this occasion, Jaishankar cited the supply chain issues brought on by the corona pandemic. ‘A major risk can arise if the production is not dispersed and there’s a concentration in one area. It is crucial to create a more dependable and resilient supply chain for the product if this risk is to be avoided,’ continued Jaishankar.

Production in China, known as the world’s factory, was impacted after the Corona outbreak. It affected the world’s production. There were claims that China engineered this on purpose to boost its stature by holding the world, hostage. In light of these events, External Affairs Minister Jaishankar appears to be advocating the creation of a strong supply chain that is dependable and crisis-resistant. According to Mr Jaishankar, India can become a more dependable production hub than China.

In the meantime, the foreign ministers of nine nations, France, Belgium, Austria, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Romania, and Sweden, are said to have held bilateral discussions with Mr Jaishankar. The Ukraine conflict, the state of the Indo-Pacific region, and economic cooperation are reportedly the main topics of discussion with these nations.
