Tehran: Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei justified the Russian invasion of Ukraine, claiming that if a way to attack Russia were open, NATO would not have stopped due to any limits or borders. He further added that had Russia not attacked Ukraine. The western coalition would have declared a war against Russia. Khamenei accused that the western countries are responsible for the suffering of the Ukrainian people.
Moreover, Russian President Vladimir Putin is in Iran to discuss Syrian and regional developments. The Presidents of Russia, Iran and Turkey concurred on increasing Syria-related cooperation. At the same time, the Russian President received overwhelming support for the military campaign in Ukraine from Iran. The supreme religious leader of Iran, Ayatollah Khamenei, blamed the western countries, saying that they are targeting Russia through the medium of the Ukraine conflict as they do not want a strong and independent Russia.
The issue of food grain export from Ukraine was also discussed during the meeting of Russian President Putin, Iranian President Raisi and Turkish President Erdogan. Russia is willing to send ships carrying food grain from the Ukrainian region under Russian control to the global market. 
But the Russian President demanded that the western countries will have to withdraw sanctions imposed against Russian food grain exports. President Putin welcomed the Turkish efforts to mediate between Russia and Ukraine for peace talks.
Meanwhile, last week, US President Joe Biden visited the Middle East. Reports of President Biden failing to garner the support of Saudi and the Arab allies on the issue of fuel shortages had been received. But the international analysts have pointed out that the Russian President succeeded in getting the support of its allies over the Ukraine issue just two days later.
