Karwar: Indian Navy is a modern, potent and credible force that can remain vigilant, courageous, and victorious in every situation. Today, the Indian Navy is counted among the front line navies of the world. The world’s biggest navies are keen to cooperate with the Indian Navy, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said.

Demonstrations of the strength and capability of INS Khanderi were presented to the Defence Minister. On this occasion, the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral R. Hari Kumar and senior officials of the Navy and the Ministry of Defence were present. Speaking on occasion, the Defence Minister expressed confidence in the strength of the Navy in precise terms.

“INS Khanderi is a submarine that demonstrates the potential of ‘Make in India’,” said Rajnath Singh. Of the 41 warships and submarines being built for the Indian Navy, 39 are under construction at the country’s shipyards. The pace at which this work is going on is making the plan for a self-reliant India even stronger, the Defence Minister added. Rajnath Singh expressed confidence that the country’s maritime security force would be greatly enhanced with the launch of INS Vikrant, the first indigenously built aircraft carrier.

However, the growing strength of the Indian Navy is not for provoking anyone but for protection. The Defence Minister has claimed that the country’s naval capability guarantees peace in the Indian Ocean region. The Defence Minister also lauded the Indian Navy for its readiness to face any threat. The Indian Navy is implementing a special project called ‘Project Seabird’ for maritime security. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also inspected it.

The Indian economy is progressing rapidly, and India’s trade and shipping are expanding in the same way. In such a scenario, it has become imperative to increase the strength of the Indian Navy to safeguard the country’s maritime interests. At the same time, China is trying to penetrate India’s naval sphere of influence. In such a scenario, India has implemented a planned program to increase its Navy’s strength and capability, and its impact is also beginning to be seen. This is also reflected in the defence minister’s statement.
