14th round of talks to take place between India-China to defuse tension at the Ladakh LAC

New Delhi – Military officials from India and China will hold the 14th round of negotiations to try and defuse the tension on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakh. This round of talks will be held at Chushul Moldo. Military officials said that India had a lot of expectations from this round of negotiations. But sources informed that the feeling that China cannot be trusted has become firm in the Indian government and the military. While the information regarding the talks is being revealed, China has raised the issue of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh contracting the Coronavirus infection and claimed that the Indian military is infected with Coronavirus.

Last time, the 13th round was held in October. At that time, the Indian military had given a proposal to China to defuse the tension on the LAC. But China had reacted that the Indian proposal was unrealistic and not consistent with the situation. The Chinese media had commented that India was demanding more than it should. There is no possibility of something concrete emerging from the 14th round of negotiations starting on Wednesday. For the last few days, China has been trying to create a façade that dominates the situation on the LAC. The Chinese media had carried the videos of flag hoisting in the Galwan Valley.

China ensured that the Indians took notice of this. It was exposed that this was a part of the Chinese pressure tactics. But the Indian military published photographs of the site of the conflict, showing Indian soldiers deployed there.

Upset with these developments, the Chinese media appealed that India should not spread war fever. China continued with the inciting activities even after that. China maintained the tension on the LAC by changing the names of a few of the locations in Arunachal Pradesh. But this made it clear that China is not interested in resolving the border dispute with India.

Against this background, it is already becoming apparent that hardly anything will be achieved through the 14th round of negotiations. Hu Shijin, a former editor of the Chinese government daily Global Times, has posted on social media that Indian Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has contracted Coronavirus infection and has linked this to the abilities of the Indian military. Shijin has claimed that this virus has infected the Indian military and has affected the capabilities of the Indian army to a great extent. Blurting out such laughable claims, China is trying to portray that the Indian military has become weak. While the Chinese soldiers cannot sustain the bitter cold winter on the LAC in Ladakh, it has become necessary for China to spread such misinformation regarding the Indian military.
