India assures assistance to Myanmar to fight Coronavirus  

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured Myanmar of all the possible assistance to fight the Coronavirus menace. Prime Minister gave this assurance to Myanmar, during his telephonic discussion with Aung San Suu Kyi, the State Counsellor of Myanmar. Prime Minister Modi clarified that the Indian policy would be ‘Neighbours First’. Prime Minister Modi held a telephonic talk with the Bangladesh Prime Minister the day before his talk with Suu Kyi.

Coronavirus has claimed six lives in Myanmar. Whereas, the number of Coronavirus cases has reached 151. The virus is spreading rapidly, increasing the challenges for the Myanmar health agencies. At such a time, India has extended the hand of friendship towards Myanmar. Prime Minister Modi said at this time that India is willing to assist Myanmar in every possible way in accordance to its policy to give the highest priority to the neighbours. Discussions regarding the measures to be taken in the fight against Coronavirus were held between the two leaders. Both the leaders concurred on the issue of fighting the Coronavirus pandemic in unison.
