Indian Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra and Iranian deputy minister for political affairs Ali Bagheri-Kani reviewed the progress of the development project. Both also discussed the current situation in Afghanistan. It was also decided during the discussions that aid for Afghanistan would be transported through Iran. A few weeks ago, India sent thousands of tonnes of wheat to Afghanistan. But it is accused that Pakistan stole a significant quantity of this wheat sent to the Afghan people through Pakistan. Therefore, India seems to be preparing to send the aid henceforth through Iran.

Only last month, the Iranian Foreign Minister visited India. At that time, both the countries announced the decision to strengthen the cooperation in the fuel and infrastructure sectors. After that, Iran made preparations to open the trade route between India and Russia with the announcement of INSTC. Western media have accused Iran is trying to increase its geopolitical importance by assisting the India-Russia trade. As per the western media, Iran will be hugely benefited from this.
