On Sunday morning, China’s Ambassador to Israel, Du Wei, was found dead at his residence. Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has stated that the Israel police is investigating into the matter. The Israeli officials said that the household staff at Wei’s home informed the police about his death.

In February, Du Wei was appointed as the ambassador to Israel. During that time, because of the Coronavirus outbreak, he had to spend two weeks in quarantine at his place. Wei had previously served in Ukraine as an ambassador before he was posted to Israel.
The initial reports claim that the 58-year-old Chinese ambassador had suffered from cardiac arrest during the night.
