Coronavirus cases in the country cross 82,000

New Delhi: Lockdown imposed in the country on the 25th of March completed fifty days. The number of Coronavirus deaths in the country has reached 2,650, and the total number of cases has crossed 82,000. A comforting report that the rate of recovery from Coronavirus has reached 34.6% also has been received. But at the same time, the increasing numbers of Coronavirus cases in certain cities and districts are becoming a cause for concern. 54 patients died in Maharashtra, in one single day, and 1,602 new cases were reported. Out of these, 46 patients are from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, and 998 cases were reported from this region in the last 24 hours.

100 people died of Coronavirus in the country between Thursday and Friday mornings, and 3,967 new cases were reported. The number of cases has increased by more than 6,500 in the last two days. The number of cases has tripled in the previous 20 days. There were 27,000 cases in the country on the 25th of April which reached 82,000 now. Maximum cases of Coronavirus have been reported from Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

The number of Coronavirus cases has reached 27,724 in Maharashtra, and the number of deaths has crossed a thousand. 197 new cases were reported from Pune. 85% of the cases have been reported from the Mumbai, Pune and Thane regions. More than 23,000 cases have been reported from these regions. Along with these three districts, Aurangabad has emerged as the most prominent hot spot. The number of Coronavirus cases in Aurangabad has crossed 800. 33% of the total Coronavirus cases in the country have been reported from Maharashtra and 20% of the national total, has been reported only from Mumbai. On this basis, the state government has reportedly decided to extend the lockdown in the hot spot district beyond the 31st of May.

9 Coronavirus deaths were reported from Delhi in the last 24 hours, and 427 new cases were reported. This is the highest number of cases reported from Delhi in one single day. This takes the total number of cases in Delhi to more than 8,000. A part of the national military headquarters has been closed as one of the soldiers tested positive for Coronavirus. 324 new cases were reported from Gujarat, taking the total number of cases to 9,591. Rajasthan has reported 4,589 Coronavirus cases so far.
