The Pakistan Army has deployed troops across the country and warned that anyone who takes the law into their own hands will be punished. The Pakistan Army has said that the leaders who lost power have done what Pakistan’s enemies have been unable to do for the past 75 years. The army has also said that May 9 will be a dark day in the history of Pakistan. Through this, the Pakistan Army has admitted that civil war has started in the country.

Imran Khan was arrested in a corruption case on Tuesday, May 9. He was produced before the Islamabad High Court on Wednesday. Here, he alleged that he was harassed in the last 24 hours. Not only this, Imran Khan further said that preparations are being made to give injections that will cause his slow death. Following his claim, Khan’s supporters intensified protests across the country. Khan’s supporters started arson in all the major cities of Pakistan, including Lahore and Karachi. In particular, Khan’s supporters targeted the houses of Pakistani Army officers and soldiers. Pakistani soldiers were forced to flee to save their lives in some places. Demonstrators are also attacking the police force.

After this, Pakistani authorities arrested the leader of Imran Khan’s party and former finance minister Asad Umar and former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi. According to media reports, more than a thousand rioters have been arrested. This infuriated the protesters, and they started a new round of attacks with more aggressive slogans against the army. There are also reports of firing at army personnel in some places. The precise count of casualties resulting from the unrest has yet to be disclosed. But due to this, Pakistan has once again faced international embarrassment.

The global community has noticed that Pakistan, which prides itself as a nuclear-armed nation, cannot uphold domestic law and order. It is also being questioned whether Pakistan can keep its nuclear weapons safe. The US and UK expressed concern over these developments in Pakistan. The Pakistan Army expressed regret that what the enemy could not do in the last 75 years is happening in Pakistan due to power-hungry leaders. ISPR, the media arm of the Pakistan Army, has accused that national interest is being sacrificed for narrow political interests.

‘Keeping in mind the larger national interest, the Pakistan Army faced the attacks on us with great restraint. The Pakistani army did not even think that it was affecting its reputation. But now, strict action will be taken against the perpetrators of such attacks. No one will be allowed to take the law into their own hands,’ the ISPR warned. Meanwhile, Pakistan’s Army Chief General Asim Munir has left his visit to Oman and returned home. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is still in London amid the civil war raging in the country.
