Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu issued clarification regarding this on Friday. He said that the Russian military has called for Liberation in Ukraine. 16,000 volunteers from the Middle East are ready to fight, and Russia has requested them to join alongside Russian-backed rebels to fight in Ukraine. This group largely consists of members assisting Russia in their fight against the IS.

Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu expressed the views of President Putin that these people want to help the people living in Donbas on their own accord and not for money. Hence, they need to allow them to join the fight against Ukraine. International media has claimed that President Putin has made plans to deploy many troops from the middle east in the fight against Ukraine.

Armed forces supporting Ukraine and Russia will now join the conflictAs Russia prepares to deploy groups involved in the fight against terrorism, there are reports that Ukraine will use terrorists in the war against Russia. A few days ago, there was news that Al Qaeda-linked terrorists from Syria’s Idlib and Aleppo provinces had entered Ukraine. The Russian news agency Sputnik reported that 450 terrorists belonging to the al-Qaeda-linked group Hayat Tahrir al-Sham had landed in Ukraine via Turkey. They are said to be in discussion with the Turkistan Islamic Party leaders, Ansar al-Tawhid and the Guardians of the Religion. Russian intelligence and a few Arab news agencies reported that Turkish intelligence officials had infiltrated the terrorists into Ukraine. Currently, the location of these terrorists is not known. There is information that these terrorists are paid $1200-1500 to fight in Ukraine. 150 terrorists are said to include people of Belgian, French, Moroccan, Tunisian, British, Albanian, and Chinese descent.

The Russian and Arabic news agencies reported that after the conflict with Russia erupted, the Ukrainian government had released criminals from prisons and brought them into the anti-Russian conflict. However, these reports could not be confirmed. There were reports of insurgents with staunch anti-Russia views to have entered Europe. Hence in the coming days, it won’t be just the fight between the Russian and Ukrainian military, but between additional armed groups from both sides.
