A-Global-Family-DavosPrime minister Modi said “Climate change is a major challenge in front of the world. This is a result of human greed and we need to unite to face this challenge. Earth is one of the Goddess in the Indian culture and it is believed that all the humans are the children of the Goddess Earth. We need to tread this path to find a solution to the climate change problem. India is not responsible for the global warming but India is leading the efforts to find a solution to this problem.”

Without naming, the prime minister took a dig at Pakistan ‘Terrorism is the second largest problem faced by the world. There is no need to elaborate as the whole world is facing the problem. But more than terrorism it is more dangerous to differentiate as good and bad terrorists’.

Protectionism is the third largest challenge faced by the world. The prime minister expressed regret that this is slowing down the process of globalisation. Prime minister claimed ‘Protectionist economic policies like taxing imports from other nations is against globalisation. This has slowed down the globalisation process and the adverse effects are becoming apparent. Therefore, there is a need to expedite this process and dropping narrow mindedness is mandatory. This protectionism becomes a equally serious challenge as the climate change and terrorism. The prime minister expressed confidence in ‘The whole world is a family’, a concept in the Indian culture, to promote globalisation. He mentioned the famous words of Mahatma Gandhi ‘I don’t want to close the doors and windows of my house because all the cultures should be entering my house. But I will never accept if this is going to try to uproot my culture’

Prime minister Modi drew the attention to ‘India does not economically exploit any nation, instead it believes in co-operative development’. According to the experts the prime minister made his point that India unlike China does not use its economic strength to exploit other nations in appropriate words.

Prime minister informed the measures taken by India to hasten the process of economic growth. The prime minister specially mentioned scrapping of archaic laws and the efforts for creating favourable atmosphere for business and investment. The Prime minister also took note of the changes owing to the newer technologies and new problems arising due to those. In coming times ‘Data’ will be wealth and the one who controls it will rule the world, prime minister said.
