7 terrorists killed in Kashmir valley in 24 hours; 1 soldier from security forces martyred

Srinagar – The security forces killed seven terrorists in the Kashmir valley in the last 24 hours, and large quantities of arms and ammunition have been seized from these terrorists. Three terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in Jadura sector of Pulwama on Saturday early in the morning. One soldier was martyred in the encounter. It is reported that a few more terrorists are hiding in this area, and a search operation has been launched. Before that, on Friday afternoon, the security forces killed four terrorists in the Kilura area of Shopian and arrested one terrorist.

The security forces got the information regarding the terrorists in Pulwama from the terrorist captured on Friday. Thereafter, soldiers launched a search operation from Friday night. The terrorists opened fire when the soldiers reached the Jadura area. Three terrorists were killed in the retaliation by the security forces.  

One soldier from the security forces was martyred in the encounter. Weapons and ammunition also have been seized from the terrorist hideout. Their names and affiliations are still not exact. A search operation has been launched, as it is suspected that more terrorists are hiding in this area.  

On Friday, security forces were tipped off regarding terrorists hiding in the Kilura area. The soldiers from the security forces cordoned the area on receiving the information and started a search operation. In the meantime, the terrorists opened fire on the security forces. In an apt retaliation, the soldiers from the security forces gunned down four terrorists. Two AK rifles and three pistols were recovered from the killed terrorists.   

The terrorists killed in action are reportedly from the terrorist organisation Al-Badr and include a commander of the Al-Badr. Jammu-Kashmir police informed that some of these terrorists were involved in the killing of Sarpanch Suhail Bhatt in Kashmir. Ten terrorists have been killed by the security forces in the Shopian district, in the last two weeks.
