Washington – Results of a US survey indicate policies of former US President Donald Trump on dealing with immigrants to be better than that of President Biden. According to a survey by Rasmussen Reports, more than 50% of Americans expressed displeasure over Biden’s policies. A report by ABC News also claimed that there was growing resentment over the handling of the immigrant issue by the Biden administration.

Officials are speculating the number to be much higher. Strong reactions are seen within the political circles and among citizens. Former President Trump sharply criticised the policies and stated that the United States is rapidly becoming a cesspool of humanity. The Republican Party even filed a no-confidence motion against President Joe Biden over the issue.

Former President Trump had adopted an aggressive stance against immigrants and infiltrators with the construction of the Mexico Wall and implementing the policy of Remain in Mexico. This included the detention of Mexican immigrants trying to enter the United States till the initial legal process was completed. As a result, thousands of immigrants seeking to enter the United States illegally were stranded in Mexico. The Mexican government was also compelled to act against the refugees. Trump’s decision led to a sharp drop in the number of immigrants crossing the border.

But after Biden took over the reins of the United States, a series of decisions were made favouring illegal immigrants. Within days of President Biden’s assuming power, the US border was opened for illegal immigrants, and the policy of Remain in Mexico was scrapped. Biden’s decision received a major jolt from the US Supreme Court last month. The US Supreme Court has ordered President Joe Biden to re-implement Trump’s ‘Remain in Mexico’ policy to prevent illegal immigrants from entering the country.

According to a survey conducted by Rasmussen Reports, 51% of US citizens believe that Trump’s policies were better. 11% were neutral and said both presidents have the same policies. Most citizens expressed outrage at the decision to release Haitian immigrants in the United States. Last week, a Gallup poll survey found 53% of citizens had a negative view of the Biden administration, whereas 63% in the survey in the State of Lowa found to be unhappy with Biden.
