Old world order cannot be re-established, warns Russian President Putin

Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin warned that those who think that the world order will be re-established as before the Ukraine conflict are wrong. The changes that are taking place in the world today are fundamental, revolutionary and irreversible. The Russian President also pointed out that some Western countries are ignoring this and have misunderstood that Western influence will continue.

Old world order cannot be re-established, warns Russian President PutinMoreover, Russia hosted the event ‘St. Petersburg International Economic Forum’. On Friday, President Putin slammed the West while speaking at this function. Putin blamed that it would be a mistake to predict that the turbulent times would disappear and that things would return to normal. Everything will not be the same as it was before. But the ruling elites in the West do not want to take cognisance of these changes. They want to hold on to the shadows of their past. Putin slammed the West, including the United States, for saying, ‘Some Westerners believe that their dominance in world politics and economics is a fixed and enduring value. But remember that nothing lasts forever. After the victory in the Cold War, America came to realise that it is the messenger of God on earth. This messenger has no responsibilities. The United States feels that only they have interests and their interests are sacred.’

The Russian President remarked that the concept of a monolithic world was fundamentally flawed. Because the criteria for international relations are never determined under the influence of a single powerful country. In the last few decades, new centres of power have been emerging in the world. They have every right to safeguard their interests and sovereignty. But the United States is not willing to accept these developments. This time, Putin also lashed out hard at the European countries.

The Russian President accused that the European Union has lost its political sovereignty and the leadership of the Union is dancing to the tune of others. Whatever is being said by the superiors is only implemented by the Union. It is overlooked even if this is detrimental to the country’s economy and population. The Russian President also warned that the policies pursued by the European Union leadership would widen the economic, social and ideological gap among the Westerners. Russian President Vladimir Putin also warned if the European leadership continues to distance itself from reality and ignore the people’s demands. Populist groups and aggressive ideological movements will gain strength in these countries. It will lead to serious economic and social changes, as well as a deterioration of values, and will lead to significant changes in top leadership soon.

A few days ago, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz acknowledged that Putin’s invasion of Ukraine had severely damaged the globalisation process. Chancellor Scholz claimed that the shock is shaping a new multi-polar world, and the phase of globalisation is coming to an end. This statement by the German Chancellor is consistent with the claim made by the Russian President. After the war in Ukraine, the capabilities and even the credibility of the United States have been threatened. As a result, allies and friends worldwide have begun to view the United States with suspicion. Severe repercussions of this are being felt in the Gulf region as well as the Indo-Pacific region.

In such a scenario, President Putin has declared that the old world order, led by the United States, has been scrapped. Besides, he conveyed to the world that this system cannot be re-established.
