India summons Pakistan High Commissioner, lodges strong protest over continuing cross-border terrorism

New Delhi: India summoned Pakistan’s High Commissioner Abdul Basit, after it became evident from the statement of the ‘Lashkar-e-Taiba’ terrorist Bahadur Ali captured alive by the border forces proving him to be a Pakistani national, and  lodges strong protest while handing him a strong ‘Demarche’ over Pakistan’s continuing support to the terrorist activities in Jammu and Kashmir, l.. From this, the Indian Government has clearly indicated that henceforth it will adopt a strict policy on Pakistan’s support to the terrorist activities on Indian soil.

There was an encounter in Jammu and Kashmir, between the Security Forces and some terrorists on 25th July. The terrorists had infiltrated from Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK).  Though the rest of the terrorists were killed, the Security Forces were able to capture Bahadur Ali alive. Bahadur is a native of Jhia Bagga village in Pakistan. He has disclosed all the information about his Pakistani citizenship. In addition to that, Bahadur also shared with the Indian investigation agencies, all the details about the training provided to them by LeT for terrorist activities.

It was also evident from the investigations that Bahadur was in contact with the LeT leaders. He, along with his group of terrorists were instructed by Let handlers to attack Indian Security forces and also to target some sensitive places. Security Forces have claimed to have avoided a large terror plot by his timely arrest. By his arrest, sinister designs of Let and Pakistan, who support the terrorist outfit, have been exposed again. Pakistan claims time and again that it has nothing to do with the terror activities on Indian soil. But with the arrest of ‘Bahadur Ali’, it has come to light that the Pakistani claims are a mere eyewash.

Pakistan openly supporting the violent agitations in Jammu and Kashmir is drawing more and more flak from India. In addition to this, Pakistan has again invited anger of India by not following proper protocol during the Indian Home Minister’s Pakistan visit for attending the SAARC summit. Due to all this, the possibility of talks between the two countries is becoming quite uncertain.

Pakistan recently provoked India by declaring Burhan Wani, the terrorist killed in an encounter by the Indian Security Forces, as a ‘Martyr’. At the same time, Hafiz Saeed and Maulana Masood Azhar, the two terrorists from Pakistan are openly threatening India with a nuclear war. It is becoming more and more apparent to the world that the possibility of any talks with Pakistan is bleak, since, all this has the support of the Pakistani government and the Pakistani army.

As a result, India has started demanding from the forum of United Nations that the countries supporting terrorism should be punished severely. At the same time, the US has also criticized that Pakistan is not acting sufficiently against the terrorists. The US has already initiated action against Pakistan, by blocking an USD 300 million financial package, which it had promised to Pakistan earlier.
