Compared with India, US has purchased more fuel from Russia since Ukraine Conflict broke out, European think tank reports

Helsinki: The United States and European countries are pressurising India to give up its nonaligned stand regarding the Russia-Ukraine war and take a stand against Russia. A US official had threatened India with the imposition of sanctions if India did not stop purchasing fuels from Russia. India exposed the dual-faced policies of the United States and European countries in clear words that the United States and European countries are purchasing more fuel from Russia than India. A leading European thinktank underlined the same fact in its recently published report. In the report, the think tank has said that the United States, which is giving sermons to India over the fuel purchase from Russia, has purchased more fuel from Russia than India.

US has purchased more fuel from Russia than India since the Ukraine conflict broke out; European thinktank reportsTwo days ago, the Finland based thinktank, ‘Centre for Research and Energy and Clean Air’ (CREA), studying the international fuel movement and air pollution, published a report. Details of fuel exported from Russia over the last two months are given in the report. The United States and European countries continued to purchase fuels from Russia even after the Ukraine war broke out. The CREA report clarifies that the United States and European countries that have imposed stringent sanctions on Russia for invasion of Ukraine have been purchasing maximum fuels from Russia.

Germany purchased the highest quantity of fuels from Russia. Whereas, the report exposes that the United States, which insists that India should stop purchasing fuels from Russia, has been buying more fuel from Russia than India. In these two months, Russia has exported fuels worth $66.5 billion. This has busted the propaganda of the western countries that India is dependent on Russian fuels.

The issue of the Indian fuel purchase from Russia was raised even during the Two-Plus-Two talks between India and the United States held a week ago. Indian Foreign Minister had given a humbling response to the question. The Foreign Minister lambasted that the quantity of fuel purchased by Europe in a day is more than the Indian quantity for a month. A report of the European think tank exactly underlines this fact.
