Pakistan faces huge disappointment in the SCO meetingRegret is being expressed in Pakistan that no ally is willing to stand with Pakistan when its economy is in shambles. Analysts claim that faulty foreign policy is the main reason for this. The country’s foreign policy is not independent. Pakistan has been formulating its foreign policy, sometimes depending on the United States and sometimes on China. Pakistani media criticise that the country is facing immense losses due to this, and Pakistan is left with no allies on the international level. At the same time, Indian foreign policies are being praised in Pakistan.

Continuing cooperation with the United States, India is purchasing fuel from Russia. The courage shown by India to take the decisions necessary to safeguard the country’s interests is not there with Pakistan. Reporters in Pakistan are expressing regret that this is because Pakistan is economically weak. Some analysts have even advised the government that Pakistan should try and improve relations with Russia and other countries to correct this mistake, not limiting only to the United States and China. The Pakistani media are especially pointing out that India purchased fuel at concessional rates from Russia and saved billions of dollars.

Accordingly, reports have been received that Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto will be holding bilateral talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on the sidelines of the SCO meeting. Indications were being received that Pakistan had high expectations regarding the outcome of the meeting. But the Russian Foreign Minister cancelled the meeting, and Pakistan was disheartened. Members of the Hate India Brigade from Pakistan accused that India had a hand in this cancellation.

These people believe that it is not difficult for India to deliver such a jolt to Pakistan using its friendship with Russia. Another section of the media is expressing regret that the Indian Foreign Minister did not talk with Pakistan Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto. Bilawal Bhutto has tried to save his skin by saying that talks with India are impossible because of the Indian decision taken in 2019 regarding Kashmir.

A few days ago, Bhutto stated that there was no option but to hold talks with India to establish cooperation. Therefore, there is a thick possibility that the change in Bilawal Bhutto’s stand could be because of the lack of Indian response to the proposal to hold talks. But the discussion that Pakistan is facing isolation on the international level is gaining momentum. Pakistani news channels have started discussing what will happen if and when Pakistan goes bankrupt.
