But the engine of the passenger train got derailed, as the Naxals had uprooted the tracks. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported in the incident. The security forces have taken necessary action to stop Naxalism. 3 days ago, 15 Naxalites had been killed in an encounter without security forces in Chhattisgarh. Sources say that due to this, the Naxals may counterattack. Thus, more precautions are taken due to Naxalite activities in this area.
The Naxals set ablaze 2 buses in Dantewada. A group of Naxals torched a truck and 2 buses after forcing the passengers to get down in Chhattisgarh’s insurgency, hit the Dantewada district, the Naxals then stopped a truck and torched it too. The incident happened only 3 days later, when security forces raise a Maoist camp in Sukma, killing 15 of them.
Considering this situation, trains were cancelled. Also, on Wednesday night, the passenger train going to Chhattisgarh – Kirandul was stopped at Kamalur, and the train was evacuated and sent back to Dantewada. When the train was 2 kms away from the Kalamur station, the engine was derailed, as the railway tracks were uprooted. This happened on Wednesday night at 10.50 pm.
The railway services were badly affected, as the tracks were uprooted. As this area is covered with dense forest, it may take time for the railway to restore its services. Officials said that, as the security forces encountered the Naxalites, they counterattacked by setting 2 buses and a truck ablaze. This incident comes close on the heels of an encounter in which, 10 Maoist were killed in Chhattisgarh last week. The naxalites are creating a havoc situation to show their existence and terror among the people.
