Japan keen on investing 5 trillion Yen in India: Deputy Ambassador of Japan

Guwahati: Deputy Ambassador of Japan in India, Kawazu Kunihiko, said that Japan is keen on investing 5 trillion Yen (₹ 3.2 Trillion) in India. The Japanese deputy Ambassador pointed out that India will have to create a conducive atmosphere for the investment and only then this investment target can be achieved.

Cooperation between India and Japan is developing in all sectors. The relations between the two countries are going from strength to strength in the 21st century. Japan is keen on investing 5 trillion Yen in India over the next five years. This amounts to 3.2 trillion in the Indian currency. Kunihiko said that infrastructure, manufacturing and climate change would be the priority sectors for the Japanese investment in India.

The Japanese deputy Ambassador clarified that Japan intends to achieve this investment goal over the next five years. India will have to discharge its responsibilities for this purpose. Otherwise, Japan cannot attain this target. Kunihiko said that creating a conducive environment means that a steady electric supply anc impetus to infrastructure development and stable policies are expected.

Kunihiko informed that Japan is also investing in Bangladesh on a large scale and India. The Japanese policies do not support the development of one country while leaving the neighbouring countries behind. Kunihiko said that Japan is providing necessary assistance to the Indian neighbours in collaboration with India. Japan has also adopted the policies of economic independence and diplomatic sovereignty for the countries in the Indo-Pacific region.

Kunihiko said that India and Japan are collaborating on this front to assist the countries from the Indo-Pacific region. Importance in being given to the northeast and the Bay of Bengal in the Indian foreign policy. Kunihiko pointed out that this has a big place in Japanese cooperation with India.
