ISRO launches 18 satellites, including Amazonia-1 of Brazil

Sriharikota: – ISRO launched Amazonia-1 of Brazil and other 18 satellites on Sunday. These included 5 satellites developed by students. The ‘Sindhu Netra’ satellite developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) was also among the launched satellites. This satellite will enable monitoring of the movements of warships and cargo ships in the Indian Ocean sector. It is claimed that the launch of Sindhu Netra is critical from the country’s security point of view.

isro-brazil-amazonia-1On Sunday, PSLV-C51 was launched from ISRO’s Satish Dhawan Space Centre at Sriharikota. Saying that the Brazilian satellite launch is a major leap for ISRO, Dr K Sivan, the chief of ISRO, expressed pride over the achievement. 18 satellites have been launched with this satellite. Out of these, five satellites have been developed by students. The Sindhu Netra satellite of the DRDO is crucial for the country’s security.  

Sindhu Netra satellite will enable monitoring of the cargo ships as well as naval ships of other countries sailing in the Indian Ocean Region. The attention of all the world’s leading countries has been diverted to the Indian Ocean Region, and this region has become strategically very important. In this situation, tracking and monitoring the movements of the ships in the region is extremely important for the security and traDr K Sivande interests of India. It is being said that Sindhu Netra will make this easy.  

ISRO Chief  expressed happiness over this first successful launch of this year. Sivan informed that ISRO would be carrying out 14 missions this year. Meanwhile, this included Amazonia-1. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Brazil on the successful launch of the satellite. Prime Minister Modi said that this is a historical stage in the space cooperation between India and Brazil. Prime Minister applauded the ISRO team saying that this is a critical day for India and ISRO. ISRO is giving a splendid performance in the satellite launch sector, increasing the Indian domination in the space sector. With the Brazilian satellite launch, India is preparing to increase its share in the satellite launch market. This attaches more importance to this launch carried out by ISRO.
