Washington/Riyadh: Iran-made drones and missiles threaten the security of the United States and its allies in the Gulf. The US defense headquarters, Pentagon, said in its report that Iran’s supply of drones and missiles to Hezbollah, Houthis and other terrorist organizations in Iraq is a matter of greatest concern. The Pentagon released the report and issued a warning to Iran while the US special envoy was visiting Saudi Arabia to discuss the issue of Iran.

Iran drone & missiles posing threat to US and its Gulf allies – US Defense HeadquartersRobert Malley, the special envoy appointed by US President Joe Biden for the nuclear deal with Iran, has arrived in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. Malley has joined the US delegation for an important meeting between the US and Saudi-sponsored Gulf Cooperation Council-GCC. It also includes representatives from the UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman, who are members of the GCC along with Saudi Arabia. The meeting claims to have discussed the report of the International Atomic Energy Agency on Iran’s nuclear program and regional tensions.

The Pentagon expressed concern over Iran’s growing threat before the meeting’s details emerged. According to the report, Iran is at the forefront of threats to the security of the United States and its allies in the Gulf. The report said that Iran-made drones and missiles pose a threat to the Gulf and US interests in the region. The report accused Iran of endangering the security of the Gulf people by supplying drones to Hezbollah, the Houthis and terrorist organizations in Iraq.

Furthermore, US Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense Dana Stroul has warned that Iran could use terrorist organizations to retaliate for last month’s drone attack on a missile factory in Isfahan. In such a situation, Robert Malley is meeting the leaders of Saudi and other Arab countries with the message that the US and GCC member countries need to unite against Iran. A few days ago, US State Department spokesman Ned Price announced that efforts to revive the nuclear deal with Iran had ended.
