Marcus Hutchins, known as MalwareTech, is a British cybersecurity worker and white-hat hacker who is best known for putting a temporary end to the 2017 WannaCry ransomware attack.

Hutchins works for the Los Angeles-based cybersecurity firm Kryptos Logic and runs a technology blog called MalwareTech. Hutchins is presently working with the UK government’s National Cyber Security Centre to ensure that other attacks like the WannaCry attack can be thwarted.
