Our fight will continue till Pakistan withdraws troops from PoK: Gilgit-Baltistan leader warns

New Delhi: – Sajjad Raja, the human rights activist and leader from Gilgit-Baltistan, has warned that the resistance will continue in Pakistan occupied Kashmir (PoK), till Pakistan military leaves the region. The people of PoK are expressing massive discontent since the Imran Khan government started making moves to declare Gilgit-Baltistan, along with PoK, as the fifth Pakistan province. Massive protests are being held against this Pakistan decision. Also, the activists living outside PoK are exposing the cruel face of the Pakistan government to the international community.

PoK activist Sajjad Raja reminded Pakistan that it is an intruder in this region, saying, ‘Pakistan military has illegally gained control over PoK. Pakistan attacked Jammu and Kashmir on 22nd October 1947 and divided the province.’ At the same time, Sajjad asserted that the resistance against Pakistan would continue till it withdraws its military from this region. Sajjad also announced that this year, 22nd October would be observed as Resistance Day.

A few days ago, European Foundation for South Asian Studies had said that 22nd October is a Black Day in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. Just three weeks ago, Sajjad had accused the Pakistan government of treating the citizens of PoK as animals. The Pakistan military is murdering citizens of PoK is broad daylight. Sajjad made an earnest appeal, at this time, saying that now the United Nations should take cognisance of the matter.

Recently, former Prime Minister of PoK also reprimanded Pakistan that Gilgit-Baltistan is a part of Kashmir and not Pakistan. Now PoK leader Sajjad has warned the Pakistan military to leave PoK.
