Aatmanirbhar Bharat has proved its capability in the defence sector – PM Narendra Modi

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted the aggressive change in the country’s mentality by saying that this country is no longer a country that flies pigeons of peace, but at present, India is freeing the cheetahs. The Prime Minister spoke at the ‘Defence Expo 2022’ in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The Prime Minister expressed his satisfaction by saying that the country’s defence forces are now purchasing weapons and materials manufactured in the country, proving the capability of self-reliant India. Also, the Prime Minister has expressed the belief that India’s defence exports will increase tremendously in the future. Also, the Prime Minister held the foundation laying ceremony of the Air Base at Deesa, Banaskantha, Gujarat. The Prime Minister said that this base near the Pakistani border would contribute significantly to the country’s security.

The Prime Minister explained the importance of this exhibition by saying that this is the first defence expo organised in the country. The Indian defence forces currently use defence materials manufactured in the country, which is a huge success of the Atmanirbhar Bharat Yojana. The Prime Minister claimed that the capability of self-reliant India had been proven due to this.

In the financial year 2021-22, the country made defence exports worth Rs 13 thousand crores. But the government has set a target to take this export to 40 thousand crore rupees in the next period, informed the Prime Minister. Indian defence forces have proved their mettle. This has increased the world’s confidence in India’s defence technology. An indigenously built aircraft carrier INS Vikrant has been inducted into the Navy. The light combat helicopter LCH Prachanda has also entered the army’s fleet. The Prime Minister said that this shows the increase in India’s defence capabilities.

The Prime Minister warned Pakistan, without being named directly, that it is fully prepared to deal with any misadventure from the West across the border these days. Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of the Air Force base at Deesa in the Banaskantha district of North Gujarat. The Prime Minister said this base would greatly contribute to the country’s defence. The Prime Minister also pointed out that along with conventional defence, the importance of defence in the space sector has increased and ‘Mission Defence Space’ is being given special encouragement by the Central Government. India is cooperating with more than 60 countries in the space sector. India will soon launch separate satellites for South Asian countries. The Prime Minister informed that ten Asian countries would benefit from this. Also, the Prime Minister mentioned that the data obtained from Indian satellites are being used by European countries, which is a matter of pride for the country.
