New Delhi – Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said, ‘I can understand that the media is very keen to know what is happening on the Line of Actual Control in Ladakh. But I can reveal information outside a particular limit. Everyone should have firm confidence in the skills on the diplomatic level and the capability of the Indian military.’ While his remarks are being published, the mechanised infantry of the Indian military, equipped with Bhishma and Arjun tanks and long-range artillery field guns, have been deployed on the LAC in Ladakh.

India seems to have turned the tables with this deployment of the Infantry on China, who was trying to increase pressure on India by increasing military movements on the LAC. Foreign Minister S Jaishankar, while speaking at a program in New Delhi, said that the negotiations are being held with China, but clarified that all the details could not be revealed at this juncture. At the same time, the Foreign Minister also pointed out that disclosing all the information regarding the LAC will not be advisable from the security point of view. China is deploying a large number of soldiers and weapons on the LAC with a view to pressurise India. China is also threatening through its mouthpiece that a war will be sparked if India does not withdraw from its positions in the region.

Indian analysts and former military officials are expressing a doubt that China had an evil design to supersede India by deploying the military on a massive scale if India withdrew from the region in winter. It can be observed from the Chinese movements in the last few weeks that China is making preparations for this. But India has taken a decisive stand against China on diplomatic as well as military level, which is resulting in failure of all the Chinese tactics. The Indian military has jolted China with an equivalent deployment on the LAC in Ladakh. Also, the mechanised infantry has been deployed on the LAC in Ladakh against the Chinese instigation with live firing exercises in the Tibet sector.

Deployment of Bhishma T-90 and Arjun tanks along with armoured vehicles and long-range artillery guns on the LAC pose a massive challenge for China. Major General Arvind Kapoor said that keeping soldiers and weapons in a war-ready condition becomes very difficult in the very high-altitude regions, but the energy and the harsh training of the Indian Army have made it possible. An official from the mechanised infantry said that the Indian Mechanised Infantry could perform in any terrain and weather. The Indian military has already been ordered to retaliate with firing against any Chinese attempt of intrusion, in large numbers. Now the deployment of mechanised infantry will make China think multiple times before making any military moves.
