US trying to overthrow the government in Bangladesh – serious accusation by Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina

The United States is trying to overturn the democratic government of our country and establish a government such that there will be no democracy here. Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina made a serious allegation that this action of the United States is completely anti-democratic.

Two days ago, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina criticized the US while speaking in the Parliament session of Bangladesh. The Prime Minister of Bangladesh blamed the United States, which has taken the mantle of democracy, is taking action against democratic countries. Prime Minister Hasina accused the US of trying to overthrow the democratic system in Bangladesh and establish an anti-democratic regime in our country. The Prime Minister of Bangladesh pointed out that the United States, which preaches to us about human rights, turns a blind eye to violating them in its own country.

For the past few days, the Biden administration in the US has started targeting the government of Bangladesh on the issues of human rights, free and transparent elections. The United States had raised eyebrows by criticizing Prime Minister Hasina in Bangladesh for taking unnecessary action against the opposition. Also, the Biden administration banned Bangladesh’s ‘Rapid Action Brigade’. It was accused of being an anti-democratic military organization.

A few weeks ago, Bangladesh was excluded from the ‘Democracy Summit’ in the United States, but Pakistan was invited. This is the second time the United States has taken such a stand regarding Bangladesh. There was criticism from Bangladesh that the United States is always taking such a duplicitous stance towards its country.

In the war of 1971, the United States made strong efforts to prevent the establishment of Bangladesh. The United States had given full support to Pakistan for this. Bangladesh was a ‘basket case’ by the then US leaders. The United States leaders claimed that Bangladesh would not be able to survive for long and would collapse.
