Washington/Moscow: Senior US official Victoria Nuland warned that Russia and President Vladimir Putin would have to pay a very dear price if President Putin orders a nuclear strike in Ukraine. Ukrainian leaders are consistently expressing fears of a Russian nuclear strike. Only last week, Russia tested its nuclear-capable Intercontinental Ballistic Missile Sarmat. President Putin had claimed after the test that this missile would dodge the most advanced air defence system. Roscosmos chief Dmitry Rogozin had said that the test of this missile was a warning for the United States and NATO. The issue of the Russian nuclear strike in Ukraine has come on the anvil, once again, following the test.
