Democrats want President Biden to give up the sole authority for nuclear launches

Washington: – Democrat party members have made a very controversial demand that US President Joe Biden should consider giving up nuclear strikes’ rights, concentrated only in the President of the United States’ hands. The US media informed that nearly 30 members of the Democrat party have signed a letter demanding this. These lawmakers believe that having all the rights in the hands of a single leader is extremely dangerous.

It has been pointed out that concentrating all the rights, for a nuclear strike, in a single person’s hands is extremely dangerous saying, ‘Former US Presidents have threatened other countries with a nuclear attack. The moves and statements made by some of these Presidents had increased concerns for the then officials. Although it is customary that the President consults others before coming to such a decision, there is no firm provision to enforce that. As per war laws, if the orders for a nuclear attack are legal, it becomes binding on the armed forces to execute them. According to the current structure of the US nuclear forces, these attacks can be launched within a matter of minutes.’

While raising this demand that President Biden should relinquish the rights, the lawmakers have also suggested alternatives. They have suggested that the President should take permission from the Vice-President and the Speaker. Following the Capitol Hill violence, Nancy Pelosi, the House of Representatives’ Speaker, had expressed fears that President Donald Trump would exercise the nuclear strike option. Pelosi even discussed this issue with Mark Milley, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.

But now, the insistent demand raised by the lawmakers, from the Democrat party itself, that the President should relinquish the rights of a nuclear strike is a huge political development in the United States. This brings the issue of the enhanced age and his abilities on the anvil again. It is becoming apparent that the Democrat party lawmakers themselves do not have faith in their President’s ability. A few days ago, President Biden stated that staying in the White House feels like being in a Golden cage during a news channel.

Joe Biden is the oldest person to become the President of the United States. Talks had started whether he has the physical energy and the mental ability to perform as the President after he announced his candidature. After it was decided that Kamala Harris would be the Vice President, it was being discussed on social media that she will take Biden’s place.
