China is testing Biden with incursions in Taiwan: US analyst Gordon Chang

Beijing/Washington: – While Joe Biden is taking over the reins of the United States, Chinese fighter jets are consistently intruding into the Taiwanese airspace. This is not a mere coincidence, and there is a straightforward plot of Chinese President Xi Jinping behind this. Gordon Chang, an analyst of Chinese origin from the United States, claimed that through this intrusion, China is trying to gauge how harsh the Biden administration’s reaction against the Chinese actions is.

In the last week, China has made its actions more aggressive against Taiwan as well as India. China has carried out intrusions into the Taiwanese airspace with fighter jets and surveillance aircraft. China even held a war exercise near the Taiwanese airspace. Reports of Chinese soldiers showing aggression near the Indian LAC near Sikkim also have been published. Last week, China carried out these aggressive actions while Joe Biden was being sworn in as the President of the United States. Analysts Gordon Chang, who is studying Chinese activities, made this critical disclosure during an interview. Chang said that China is assessing how aggressive Biden is as compared to former US President Donald Trump. Chang reminded that China did not have such war exercises when Donald Trump was sworn in as the President in 2017.

Chang claimed that China tried gauging Biden by holding successive war exercises inside the Taiwanese airspace on Saturday and Sunday, in the last week. Chang said that many in the United States share this opinion. China had gauged the past presidents George Bush and Barack Obama with similar activities. But China did not make that mistake in case of Donald Trump. Chang said in the interview that China did not gauge Trump as it was afraid of Donald Trump.

Chang reminded that the elite in China openly say that they are not afraid of Biden. Therefore, the Chinese government’s aggression will prove to be most dangerous to pressurise the Biden administration.

Meanwhile, China has justified the intrusion of Chinese jets into the Taiwanese airspace. The Chinese defence department has warned the United States saying, ‘The groups making efforts for independent Taiwan are playing with fire, and they will burn in the fire. Taiwanese independence amounts to a declaration of war.’
