Seoul/Washington : North Korea test-fired a medium-range ballistic missile that can strike upto a minimum of 1000 kilometers. Whereas the South Korean army claims that, one missile was fired by North Korea, the US’ ‘Strategic Command’ informs that two ‘Rodong’ missiles were fired simultaneously. Although North Korea chooses to refrain from any clarification, the fact remains that it was only two days ago that North Korea had threatened to declare war on the US.

The test-fired missile landed in the Exclusive Economic Zone of Japan provoking Gen Nakatani, the Defence Minister of Japan into a forceful objection. The missiles of North Korea are a grave threat to the security of Japan, said Nakatani. South Korea has alleged that North Korea appears to be preparing to wage war on its neighbouring countries by testing its missiles.

Claiming that North Korea’s missile tests could prove a threat to the security of its allies, the USA has announced the deployment of ‘THAAD’ – an advanced anti-missile system in South Korea and that of the ‘B-1’ bomber plane on the Guam Island. Meanwhile, the deployment of the THAAD made by the US in South Korea, is a deployment made against us, alleged China. Russia too has put on record, its objection to this decision on the part of the US.
