India slams UN report about terrorism, which does not mention ‘Jaish’ and ‘Lashkar’

New York – There is no mention of Pakistani terrorist organisations Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba in the report prepared by the General Secretary of United Nations regarding the activities of terrorist groups. Indian Ambassador to UN, TS Tirumurti, mentioned the terrorist group Haqqani Network from the Taliban and pointed out that this group is affiliated with terrorist organisations like IS and Al Qaeda.

United Nations, Terrorism, jaish, Lashkar-e-Taiba,The United Nations recently published a report on threats to international peace and security from the terrorist organisation IS. The said report was discussed in the UN meeting held on ‘Threat to International Peace and Security caused by Terrorist Acts’. India targeted Pakistan during the meeting and expressed strong resentment over the omission of the terrorist organisations from this country.

India registered its protest by saying, ‘India has repeatedly pointed out the connections of the terrorist groups Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba with other terrorist organisations. The Pakistani support enjoyed by the Haqqani Network and its links with the terrorist groups IS-K and Al Qaeda in South Asia cannot be overlooked. This does not appear in the Secretary General’s report despite India raising this issue repeatedly. We expect the next report to carry information received from all the countries.’

The Indian Ambassador clarified that India has consistently pointed out the growing terror threat from its neighbour. The fears expressed by India over this are likely to intensify, given the changed political situation in Afghanistan. Tirumurti reminded that the strength of IS has nearly doubled after the Taliban released the convicts from prisons.
