New Delhi: ‘A large proportion of youth in the population, the overwhelming demand due to the population and a decisive government, all these things have come together in India for the first time in recent history. Therefore, India has the potential to lead the fourth industrial revolution,’ said Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Due to various reasons, India could not take the lead in the earlier industrial revolution. But this time, the Prime Minister has said that India will lead the world at the forefront of the fourth industrial revolution.

India did not participate in the previous three industrial revolutions. Western countries were at the forefront, and through them, India benefited from these industrial revolutions. But India has the potential to lead the fourth industrial revolution, the prime minister said, adding that the country’s industry can play a significant role in this regard. The prime minister claimed that India’s industry could do a great job, especially in the global value chain. For this, the prime minister pointed out that the central government has made reforms and announced special benefits to speed up ‘Make in India’ by promoting the manufacturing sector in the country.

The country’s Heavy Industries Minister Mahendra Nath Pandey has also said that India is taking steps towards becoming a global manufacturing hub. Pandey pointed out that 3D printing, machine learning, data analytics and the Internet of Things will be important in promoting the country’s industrial development. Along with this, the Union Heavy Industries Minister expressed the belief that due to the announcements made by the Central Government for advanced chemistry cell (ACC) battery storage, the import in this sector will decrease in the future and India will become an exporting country. Also, EV buses, i.e. electric buses, have been started in the states of Gujarat and Karnataka. Out of these 175 buses, 75 buses will be operated in Gujarat, and 100 buses will be operated in Karnataka. Also, Heavy Industries Minister Pandey also informed that the Center for Industry 4.0 laboratory was inaugurated in Pune.

In 2019, ‘Faster Adoption and Manufacturing Electric Vehicles-FAME’ was promoted to increase the production and use of electric vehicles. According to this, it was decided to provide necessary assistance to 10 lakh electric two-wheelers, 5 lakh three-wheelers, 55 thousand four-wheelers and 7 thousand e-buses. In this fourth phase of the Industrial Revolution, there will be a massive use of digital technologies used in the industrial sector. It is claimed that this will significantly enhance quality, efficiency and productivity. Heavy Industries Minister Pandey made a note of this on occasion.

Mahendra Nath Pandey explained that the Ministry of Heavy Industries is making conscious efforts for this and is promoting the progress of the fourth industrial revolution in the country.
