However, Imran Khan accused that his arrest was part of a plan to assassinate him. Hence, he appealed to the people to take to the streets in protests. However, the protests turned violent, and the supporters of Imran Khan attacked army posts and officers vandalised public property. A reliable source has yet to account for the loss of lives during the protests. Pakistan’s army has taken serious note of this.

Thus, observers claim that although the Islamabad High Court has protected him for two weeks, he is not yet off the hook. Pakistan’s Internal Security Minister Rana Sanaullah has held Imran Khan responsible for provoking his supporters to cause violence nationwide. Rana Sanaullah informed that the protesters used weapons. Imran Khan cannot be arrested, but fresh cases for inciting violence will be filed against Imran Khan.

Meanwhile, journalists and analysts in Pakistan have vowed not to spare Imran Khan for inciting violence against them. Hence, it seems that Imran Khan and his party will have to pay a heavy price for this in the future.
