50 Coronavirus deaths reported during Lockdown in China’s Shanghai; intense discontent among locals

ShanghaiShanghai: – There is a feeling of intense discontent in the Shanghai population given the harsh restrictions, shortage of life essentials, and censorship imposed by the ruling Communist Chinese regime once again. The lockdown imposed at the end of March has still not been withdrawn, even after completing a month. The lockdown has been made strict once again after a few days of respite. There is anger and displeasure in the Shanghai population as the old problems persist even after the new imposition of lockdown. The discontent of the people is being expressed through various media. Nearly 50 people have been reported dead during the lockdown period.

ShanghaiShanghai, in China, is known as an important financial and trade centre of the Asian continent. Many Coronavirus cases have been reported in this city since the beginning of March. It was announced that the lockdown imposed at the end of March would remain in force until the 5th of April. But the situation is seen to be deteriorating further instead of improving. The number of Coronavirus cases is increasing by the day, and the number of deaths is also rising. More than 35,000 Coronavirus cases have been reported in the last 48 hours, and 23 patients have died.   

The anger in the population is reaching its tipping point as the restrictions have become harsher rather than the situation improving. The incidents of arguments and clashes with health workers are on the rise. Incidences of people collecting and swearing at the health workers and the soldiers deployed for security have also been reported. The displeasure is reflected even on Chinese social media. A 6-minute video showing the situation in Shanghai has gone viral on social media.     

ShanghaiThe video named ‘Voice of April’ shows the situation in Shanghai during the lockdown period. The video shows people calling for help, arguments, despondent citizens and queues for testing. Although the Chinese regime removed the video in a swift action, the repercussions are being felt on social media. Many users have expressed regret saying that the incidents are the same as those in Wuhan two years ago.   

Meanwhile, it has been reported that ten school students have contracted Coronavirus infection in Beijing, the Chinese capital. This has created a stir in the Chinese ruling circles, and the local agencies informed that comprehensive testing has been started in various parts of the city.
