Shanghai: There is an Intense public outcry in China against Corona lockdown imposed in the leading cities. It is reported that the disgruntled populations in the cities like Shanghai along with Ludong, Chengdu and Langfang have started expressing their displeasure through protests and even attacks. The Chinese security agencies have initiated action against this and it is said that more than 150 people have been arrested in the connection. Western media and analysts have claimed that this proves that the Zero COVID Policy implemented by the Chinese communist regime is a failure.
Last month, a 27-year-old student Sun Jian created a big noise in the city of Ludong. He even put up a placard saying ‘Lift the Lockdown in Ludong’ on the university campus. After that, Sun was arrested and debarred from the university. Most of the students in the Sichuan University in Chengdu opposed the lockdown. Chinese media reported that the university had to withdraw from the lockdown given the intensifying unrest.
Locals in Longfang, near the capital Beijing, took to the streets to protest against the lockdown. Videos of the protests were released on Chinese social media. Incidents of people agitated given the lockdown, attacking health workers have been received from the city of Shanghai. China is known to be a ruthless country entirely under the control of the communist regime and has successfully suppressed the discontent in the people. China takes care that the internet and social media is entirely under its control so that these media remain in the hands of the government. 
Despite all this, it becomes significant that the Chinese population’s discontent is being announced to the world. This indicates that the vice-like grip of the communist party is loosening and also indicates a threat to the leadership of President Xi Jinping.
Meanwhile, China’s leading companies have also started issuing warnings over the policies implemented to counter Coronavirus. Huawei, the leading telecom company and XPeng, a leading automobile sector company, have warned that the economy is feeling the heat of this Zero COVID Policy. Senior officials from these companies have warned that the supply chain in China has been disrupted and the industry sector will be hit hard if the lockdown is not lifted. While this warning is being published, the lockdown has been implemented in two additional cities, Shiyan and Zhenzhou.
Moreover, China is frantically trying that the Coronavirus situation in the country, the effects of the lockdown and the opposition to the lockdown are not exposed to the world. Still, the information has been disclosed on the international level and the population facing starvation given the lockdown seems to be preparing to put up a vigorous fight against the policies of the communist party.
