It was also revealed that this oil was purchased at higher rates than the ‘price cap’ set by the G7, the US and European countries. After that, it is now coming to light that the US has continued to import uranium from Russia.

Russia is known as the world’s largest exporter of enriched uranium. Uranium is supplied from Russia to the US and some major European countries. More than 90 nuclear reactors in the US use Russian uranium as fuel. About 25 percent of total US uranium demand is fulfilled by Russia. Analysts claim that while the US has directed local uranium producers to increase production by providing concessions and subsidies, it does not have the capacity to replace Russian uranium. A bill in this regard is also pending in the US Congress and has not yet been approved. It is also said that some concessions have been given to US companies in this bill.

After the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, Western countries imposed massive sanctions to put pressure on Russia. It also included the oil sector, which is an important component of the Russian economy. Western leaders and officials had forecast that the Russian economy would collapse and Russia would suffer after the sanctions on the energy sector. But in reality, it appears that Russia has succeeded in defying the sanctions.
