The Trump administration has started a comprehensive diplomatic conflict with China, blaming it for the Coronavirus pandemic. The United States started a spate of actions on China’s issues like Taiwan and the economy, trade, investment, and technology sectors. Even after getting the mandate that President Trump will not continue for a second term, the administration has not stopped its campaign against China.

Last week, while releasing a blacklist, the US commerce department included the leading Chinese company SMIC. It was said that along with this Chinese giant 60 companies were being included in the blacklist. As the department declared the list, it accused the Chinese military of using these companies to acquire the latest US technologies.

On Monday, US Secretary of Commerce, Wilber Ross, announced an independent ‘Military End-User List’. It is claimed that the Chinese military and related entities are using these companies’ technologies and products. Therefore, the US companies are directed not to sell technologies and related components to these companies. The US commerce department clarified that this decision has been taken given US national security.

Following the commerce department’s decision, the US state department announced that additional restrictions are being put for visas to the Chinese officials. Before this, the United States had imposed visa and economic sanctions against the officials involved in atrocities committed in Hongkong, Tibet and the Xinjiang province. But subsequently, all the officials involved in human rights violation and actions against minority groups will be targeted. The state department informed that visa restrictions would apply even to their family members.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the Chinese communist party is responsible for the Chinese population’s suppression and torture. The new action is a part of the campaign started by the United States against the communist party.
