The security forces received a tip-off about ULFA being active in the villages of Charaideo and Dibrugarh districts. With it, Assam Police launched a search campaign jointly with other security forces in which a hardcore cadre of the ULFA and four ‘Overground Workers’ (OGW) were arrested. The names of the ULFA operatives apprehended include self-styled private Baldev Teli and Amit Bara, Sumit Baig, Azad Gohran and Vijay.

The racket busted in Dibrugarh was ran by the ULFA and recruited minors, said a spokesperson of the Indian Army. The minor rescued was reunited with his parents after counselling while the ULFA rebels arrested were handed over to the Assam Police.
