Coronavirus deaths in US cross 100,000

Baltimore: Number of Coronavirus deaths around the world has crossed 350,000, and out of these, more than 100,000 deaths have been reported from the United States alone. The total number of Coronavirus cases in the world has reached 5.7 million, and 74% of these cases are from 12 countries. The comforting news is that 2,460,841 patients have fully recovered from the disease. But the new statistic published by China and South Korea says that the number of asymptomatic Coronavirus patients is increasing.

The total number of Coronavirus cases in the world has reached 353,621, with an addition of 4,055 deaths in the last 24 hours. On Tuesday, the pandemic claimed 657 lives in the United States, taking the total number of deaths in the country to 100,580. John Hopkins University informed that 33% of the total deaths in the world had been reported from the United States alone. The university pointed out that the number of deaths reported from the United States is less than 700 for three successive days. The figures of the pandemic reported from Europe have also shown a decline. There were 209 deaths on Tuesday. While the number of deaths is decreasing in the United States and Europe, Brazil reported 1,039 deaths in one single day.

91,940 new Coronavirus cases were reported from around the world, thus taking the total count of cases to 5,727,522. In the last 24 hours, more than 19,000 cases were reported from the United States, and the number reported from Brazil was 16,324. Europe reported more than 15,000 new cases. Russia reported 8,338 new cases in one day. Other than the United States, Brazil, Russia and the European countries, the number of cases is rapidly increasing even in India, Turkey and Iran. The total number of cases in all these countries has reached 4.2 million. 

Latin America has become the new epicentre of the pandemic, and the pandemic has claimed more than 34,000 lives in 14 Latin American countries. Whereas, the total number of cases has crossed 700,000. John Hopkins University informed that the maximum number of cases and deaths were reported from Brazil, Ecuador and Peru, among the Latin American countries. The human rights organisations and John Hopkins University accused Venezuela of hiding the real numbers of cases and deaths in the country. President Maduro declared that the pandemic has claimed only 11 lives and there are only 1,200 Coronavirus cases in the country. The human rights organisations are accusing that the Maduro government is hiding the real figures.

Meanwhile, more than 300 asymptomatic Coronavirus cases have been reported from China and South Korea. The local administration in the city of Wuhan, in China, informed that a minimum of 200 cases of the asymptomatic type were found during the screening started ten days ago. Whereas, South Korea reported a minimum of 125 asymptomatic patients. Therefore, concerns are being expressed that this new wave of Coronavirus may acquire dangerous proportions as the symptoms are not very easily detectable in patients.
