More 50,000 people might lose their lives due to Coronavirus if Pakistan uplifts the lockdown, warn nation’s doctors

Islamabad: In Pakistan, 678 people have died due to the Coronavirus pandemic. But, this is just the beginning; the doctors in Pakistan have warned that if Pakistan wants to prioritise on boosting its economy over the good health of citizens, then it should prepare to sacrifice the lives of at least 40,000 to 50,000 people. Pakistan will have to bear great misfortune if it rejects this advice, warn the doctors’ communion. Considering the amount of cluster of people that gathered on Monday in Pakistan’s flea market, this situation is soon bound to become a reality.

Pakistan has more than 31,000 people affected due to the virus. By the end of May, this number will easily surpass to about 1.5 lakhs, warn medical experts. They further warned that this would not only stop here. The number may also cross four lakhs by June-end. The doctors’ communion questions Pakistan’s government, whether it is prepared to sacrifice the life of 40,000 to 50,000 citizens if they’re willing to raise the lockdown.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had said that hunger is a greater problem in Pakistan. Thus, he has ever since been claiming that the lockdown is unaffordable for Pakistan. Besides, Pakistan’s finance minister, Asad Umar, favoured the lockdown raise by saying that the number of people who die of road accidents is more than of those who would die of Coronavirus. But, the doctors and the communion of medical experts are drawing the attention of Pakistan’s government to the fact that their country does not have enough hospitals and medical resources to treat the affected people.

The Imran Khan government is dragging Pakistan into a horrible turmoil, accuse the leaders from opposition too. Pakistan’s national media has also criticised that the country never saw any serious lockdown due to Imran Khan’s poor policy framing. Hence, Coronavirus disease has spread tremendously across the country. Furthermore, the media also drew attention to the fact that the real numbers cannot be identified as the medical tests are not being conducted at the required rate. However, the Imran Khan government is not taking note of it. Also, as there is a grave conflict ongoing in Pakistan, based on the lack of vaccination, their Foreign Minister, Shah Mahmood Qureshi, ridiculously said that Pakistan conducts the most medical tests across South Asia. This has, thus, brought to light, the uncommitted and careless approach of Pakistan’s government regarding Coronavirus.
