US reports 1300 Coronavirus deaths in a single day, pandemic spreads to US navy

Washington: In the last 24 hours, 1,336 people died in the Coronavirus pandemic in the United States. This takes the total number of deaths in the United States to 8,454. However, President Trump has expressed fear over the number of fatalities rising rapidly in the next weeks. Trump has alleged that the crisis developed because of the negligence of some US states.

The United States has the highest number of Coronavirus cases in the world, and 34,000 new cases were added in the last 24 hours. Currently, the United States records 311,635 Coronavirus cases, and 15,000 are claimed to be recovering whereas, 8,000 patients are in a critical condition. More than 1,000 deaths were reported in the United States for the second day in succession.

New York state is becoming the most significant centre of Coronavirus pandemic. As of now, 3,565 patients have died in New York. Nonetheless, President Trump has expressed grave concerns during a press conference and stated, ‘A significant surge in the death toll is possible soon.’ Only a few days ago, President Trump had said that the number of deaths in the United States could dreadfully climb due to Coronavirus and would go up to 150,000 or 200,000.

The citizens returning from China are believed to be responsible for the spread of the pandemic in the United States. A minimum of 430,000 people travelled from China to the United States when the pandemic was at its peak in China. A US daily said that these instances occurred before President Trump imposed a ban on air travel.

Meanwhile, 155 US naval soldiers aboard the gigantic US aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt have tested positive for the Coronavirus infection. After that, a medical screening was ordered of all the US military personnel deployed in the Asia-Pacific region.
