Nord Stream Pipeline leakage a part of international terrorism – Russian President Vladimir Putin

Moscow: The oil spill in the Nord Stream pipeline, which supplies fuel from Russia to Europe, is an unprecedented disaster. Russian President Vladimir Putin has made serious allegations that the natural gas leak from this pipeline is part of an international terrorist conspiracy. The United States and NATO blamed Russia for this fuel leak. However, a few hours ago, Russia pointed out that the area where the oil spill occurred was under the control of the US intelligence agencies. The Russian President has hence, made these allegations.

Two days ago, former US President Donald Trump warned that an attack on both the Nord Stream 1 and Nord Stream 2 fuel pipelines in the Baltic Sea could lead to World War III. Trump recalled the statement made by US President Joe Biden in February before the Ukraine conflict broke out. Biden had threatened that the ‘Nord Stream 2’ oil pipeline would cease to exist if Russia attacked Ukraine. We will destroy this pipeline. Thus, seven months later, the spills in both Nord Stream fuel pipelines in the Baltic Sea are being viewed with more scepticism.

The United States and NATO blamed Russia for the four spills in the Nord Stream pipeline. NATO has warned that if these deliberate and irresponsible attacks pose a threat to the security of fellow countries, they will be responded to with unity. The head of the federation, Ursula von der Leyen, alleged that Russia had a large defence deployment in the Baltic Sea area and that Russia itself had caused this attack. The European Union claimed this would cut off Europe’s fuel supply and benefit Russia.

But Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova also drew international media’s attention to US President Joe Biden’s threat in February. Zakharova asked whether the Biden administration has made its threat come true by causing an attack on the pipeline here. Also, Russia raised the concerns of the Biden administration by saying that the US intelligence agencies controlled the leaked parts. Even a spokesperson for the Biden administration found it difficult to explain the Russia allegations satisfactorily during a press conference at the White House.

In such a situation, Russian President Putin intensified the accusations by saying that the oil spill in the said pipeline was attempted sabotage. Besides, Putin made a serious allegation that this type of fuel spill is a conspiracy of international terrorism. Methane gas is being released rapidly from this fuel leak. It is claimed that this is a matter of concern for the Baltic Sea region and the European countries here.
