NATO is ready for a direct confrontation with Russia

Brussels: ‘This is an important signal for Russia… That we are prepared if they decide to go after NATO. This is a red line. If there is a red line, then it is the Russians crossing our borders,’ senior NATO official Rob Bauer has warned. Besides, the US and NATO have used Ukraine as part of their anti-Russian strategy. Alternatively, criticism has started coming from Europe that the US and NATO have nothing to do with the security of Ukraine and other European countries. In such circumstances, the organisation has testified to NATO’s commitment to protecting its European member countries. Moreover, Rob Bauer’s statements underline this claim.

Germany, the UK, France, Poland, and Spain, along with the US, have announced to supply tanks to Ukraine. Therefore, Ukraine will receive more than three hundred tanks in the next few months. Western countries will also provide Ukraine billions of dollars worth of advanced weapons and defence equipment to fight against Russia. The Russian leaders have been claiming that Ukraine’s military aid from NATO member countries has been equivalent to NATO going to fight against Russia. Russian leaders have also warned that these countries will have to bear the consequences.

In such a situation, the Portuguese news channel asked Rob Bauer, the Chief Officer of NATO, ‘Are you ready for a direct confrontation with Russia?’ To this, Bauer replied in the affirmative. He further said that Russia should not cross NATO’s boundary lines. NATO is ready for a conflict with Russia if Russia reaches NATO member states. NATO has increased the number of its battlegroups in the European countries of Slovakia, Hungary, Romania and Bulgaria. Saying that Russia should take note that NATO has changed its posture, Bauer claimed that NATO was preparing for war with Russia.

After the US and NATO announced the decision to supply more and more weapons to Ukraine, Russia prepared to launch heavy attacks of such intensity that these weapons and defence materials would not reach the Ukrainian army. There have been claims that Russia had planned to attack the countries from which these weapons would get to Ukraine. By citing it, Rob Bauer seems to have warned Russia that attacks on NATO member countries will not be tolerated. However, the Russian leadership has repeatedly clarified that Russia was not fighting with the Ukrainian army but with NATO in Ukraine. But now Russia had warned that the possibility of a direct confrontation between the Russian military and the US and NATO in Ukraine has increased. Also, the news that Russia has fully prepared for this war has been published continuously. Against this backdrop, there have been claims that NATO is ready for conflict with Russia.

If war between Russia and NATO breaks out, the European countries and the world will suffer dire consequences. Warnings have been given internationally that this war may turn into a nuclear war.
