The marine and air surveillance in the Persian Gulf has increased since the last few weeks, given the increasing tension. Other than these, the United States, the United Kingdom and the European countries have dispatched their warships for the security of the Persian Gulf. Us fighter jets, surveillance and bomber airplanes also are patrolling this area. A US study group recently announced that some of these airplanes have been equipped with cluster bombs. The foreign oil tanker seized by Iran a few hours before the crash has been docked in the Bushehr port. Iran has deposited that confiscated oil stock, from the tanker, in one of the big storages in the same region. As the fighter jet crashed within a few minutes of the incident, the significance of the crash increased further.
