Tehran: The attack by the United States, Britain and France on Syria proves to be a crime. President Trump of the United States, Theresa May of the UK and Emmanuel Macron of France, who ordered the attack, are criminals. Such was the criticism showered by Iranian supreme religious leader Ayatollah Khamenei. The newspapers from the West have claimed that Iran is making strong preparations for harsh action against these ‘criminals’. The newspapers also indicated that Iran had initiated these preparations, a long time ago.
President Trump had issued a special message to Russia as well as Iran following the attack on Syria. “At an international level, an opinion about a country is formed from the allies it keeps. Russia and Iran should neither support nor cooperate with the murderer government, which has carried out chemical attacks on its own people and children,” President Trump had warned. This warning by President Trump has been dismissed by Russia as well as Iran. Declaring Trump as a criminal, Iranian supreme religious leader Ayatollah Khamenei and President Rouhani have warned that Iran is well prepared for an action even against the United States.
Iran has been challenging the United States from even before the Syrian attack. ‘If the United States violates the nuclear deal, Iran can retaliate within a week. Iran is much better prepared that what the United States thinks,’ experts reminded of the warning issued by President Rouhani. At the same time, Iran has clearly indicated that it considers the attack on Syria as an attack on Iran itself.
On this background, it seems that Iran had already prepared to respond the US attack on Syria. As a result, it appears that the United States, France and the UK had to face retaliation from Russia and Iran in near future.
